Hello Folks,
It’s been a long time since I last wrote, but I think it’s time to dust off of the good old blog and start writing.
This is an opening up the blog again entry. I’m curious about how you’re doing during these strange times. As I continue writing, I’d like to share whatever helps me along the way, so it can help you along the way.
I want to make this time more meaningful and more useful. And not useful in the – type A must be productive at all costs – type useful, but useful to your growth as a human. Join me on this journey.
Because what better time to reevaluate your life, values, beliefs, and the very premise on which we live, then during a time like this?
I know I’ve had my ups and downs through this thing and I’ve been very lucky in a lot of ways. So I can only imagine what some of you are going through. When sharing my experience, I never want to take this for granted. I never want to minimize or forget those whose struggles are different than mine. Those things I cannot imagine. I give thanks to the people who are making our world go round. They are putting food on our tables and taking care of our health. Those who are making tough decisions and showing true leadership and courage. I am super grateful to all of you folks. Thank you for your service.
Going through it
I have been filled with many emotions: gratitude, fear, anger, confusion, uncertainty, sadness, happiness, joy, grief, love, and so many more in-betweens I can’t name. How can I allow myself to feel what comes up, but also, not cause more undue damaging emotions – such as a perpetuating cycle of anger? How can I use this time as “alive time” and not “dead time”? How can I live more fully, more truly, and be more myself or become more myself than I have ever been?
Time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking . . .
This year will mark my 40th birthday. Just seeing that on paper is surreal. That’s a grownup number. I don’t always feel that grown-up, but maybe it’s time to grow into who I want to be. This is a good time for reevaluation. A good time to examine life, thoughts patterns, beliefs, and find out what is working and what is not. I think it’s a good time for us to do this as a society, and as a people. But it’s got to start on the individual level.
There is a lot that is not working that I want to make better. There is a lot working and I want to recognize and continue that. I want to share all of those things here. In small posts and long. Seemingly superficial, and the deep abstract. I invite you to do so as well.
What do you want to explore during this time and beyond? Let me know! Comment or email.
Human beings are resilient, inventive, ingenious creatures. I think we can think of solutions to problems large and small. Let’s start with ourselves. Let’s do things differently and live life more fully, more truly, and in a way that is in alignment with what we really want and who we really are.
It’s about time.
Love,
Donna
